Travelling to Delft
By international train
There are several direct international trains to the Netherlands:
- The intercity Brussels to Amsterdam, change trains for Delft in Rotterdam
- Thalys Paris, Brussels to Amsterdam, change trains for Delft in Rotterdam
- Eurostar London to Amsterdam, change trains for Delft in Rotterdam
- ICE Basel, Frankfurt, Cologne, Duisburg to Amsterdam

From Rotterdam 10 trains per hour call at Delft (15 min travel time). From Amsterdam Central Station Delft can be reached in one hour, two direct rains per hour and two with a cross platform change at Leiden Central Station. Please note that there are two train stations in Delft: Delft and Delft Zuid. Both for the city centre as well as for the conference venue station Delft should be chosen.

By plane and train: Schiphol Amsterdam Airport
Schiphol Amsterdam Airport offers connections with major cities in Europe. There are fast (intercity) trains connection from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport to Delft, four times an hour. This is a direct connection twice an hour, while the other two require a cross platform change at Leiden Central Station. Travel time for both options is 38 minutes.
Trains to Delft depart from platform 5-6. A single ticket costs 10,50 euros in 2nd class; you will pay 17,33 euros for a first class ticket. Reservations are not needed (nor possible) for domestic trains. On the Dutch railways website: https://www.ns.nl/en you can plan your journey and buy your e-ticket.
It is also possible to buy a single-use ticket from the ticket machines or selling desk (1 euro surcharge). These tickets must be validated at the card readers near the platforms or escalators.
Please keep the ticket: you will need it to open the gates in Delft with it! Take the street level exit, the one between street level and train station will lead you to the bicycle storage.
Please note that there are two train stations in Delft: Delft and Delft Zuid. Both for the city centre as well as for the conference venue station Delft should be chosen.
By plane and train: other airports
Rotterdam The Hague Airport is a small airport with connections to several European cities.
When flying to Eindhoven, one has to take a bus to Eindhoven station. A direct intercity runs from Eindhoven to Delft, twice an hour, train travel time 75 minutes.
